Let’s Get Physical: Unleashing the Power of Physical Therapy in Recovery

WATCH WEBINAR

Physical therapy, in coordination with other medical treatment following a workplace injury, can provide a wide range of benefits. Some are better known – decreased pain, increased mobility and strength, prevention of further injury.

Some benefits are less known and understood but can have the greatest impact.

Physical therapy becomes a more powerful contributor to recovery when the injured worker is engaged as an active participant in their recovery, restoring their trust and confidence in their own ability to manage their safe return to work and activity.

To help improve your understanding and ability to best leverage physical therapy treatment in effective workers’ comp injury case management and resolution, this webinar will explore and answer:

  • What is the importance of PT in a workers’ comp injury?
  • What is needed to obtain the best outcome from PT?
  • What are some of the additional factors that influence PT outcomes?
  • How can the benefit of additional PT be assessed?
  • What if PT is not producing expected results?
  • What is the role of the nurse case manager in facilitating effective use of PT?

Please join us for this information-rich, high-value session to advance your understanding and success in utilizing physical therapy protocols and strategies.

Mind and Body: Behavioral Health Concerns In Workers’ Compensation

WATCH WEBINAR

Employees are a package deal – they have physical bodies and psychological minds that constantly interact, sometimes even more so when they are injured. Psychosocial factors exist in nearly all claims, and ignoring them doesn’t help the injury resolve – in fact it can make it worse.

Fortunately, acknowledgement of behavioral health needs in workers’ comp is increasing. Our multidisciplinary panel of experts will guide you through:

  • The current state of behavioral health in workers’ comp claims and pending legislation
  • Common behavioral health issues accompanying physical injuries
  • Risks and costs of ignoring behavioral health issues
  • Behavioral health treatments for workers’ comp injuries • Specialized interventions for first responders’ stress and PTSD claims
  • Nurse case manager role in identifying needs and coordinating treatment

This webinar will help prepare you and your organization to better support injured workers’ behavioral health needs and integrate treatment into their claims that ultimately produce positive outcomes, cost savings and an improved experience for all parties.

Navigating the New Med-Legal Review Rules

Emphasis on the Role of In Pro Per Applicants
Medical and legal expenses are reaching new highs, especially since the Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) adopted the new Medical-Legal Fee Schedule (MLFS) in April of 2021. The new MLFS represents the first increase in reimbursement rates for physician evaluators in 15 years. The $3 per page record review billing code MLPRR represents a significant expenditure.

In this webinar we will be sharing recommendations on Record Review Compliance and insights into the role of In Pro Per Applicants. We’ll also be touching on the MLPRR as well as addressing compliance issues, record review rules, and how it applies to AME, QME, and PTP issuing a report to prove or disprove a contesting claim or controversy.
