Case Challenge #2
A teacher wanted to receive the second in a series of three facet block injections with pain relief before she went back to work. However, her request was made only six days before school began, which didn't leave much time to get approval, conduct the procedure, and allow for sufficient recovery.

Our Solution
Our nurse case manager persistently phoned and emailed the claims examiner, gaining approval in only a day and a half. The surgical procedure was scheduled, and the facet block was administered the next day. The teacher then had 4 days to recuperate, and was able to start school on the first day.
