Case Challenge #1
A physician would not allow a patient to return to work without first trying water therapy, a method that the physician had successfully used in the past, but wasn't expressly authorized by the insurance policy.

Our Solution
After repeated attempts to have water therapy authorized without any response from the claims examiner, the nurse case manager conducted extensive Internet research about the benefits of water therapy, then provided this information to the claims examiner, resulting in immediate approval of the treatment.
